Adopt the Internet Day – Dog Rescue

Adopting a dog is a big decision, but once the commitment has been made it can become confusing as to where is the best place to find your new family member.  Many people immediately think they should get a puppy and begin to look for breeders, which has unbeknown to the adopter led to puppy mills or pet stores.

Between 3 and 4 million dogs and cats are sadly euthanized each year in the United States simply because too many people give up their pets and too few people adopt from shelters.  Limited space at shelters leave staff members with a very hard decision to euthanize animals who haven’t been adopted.

Petfinder 15th Anniversary

Petfinder is celebrating it’s 15th year of bringing pets and people together to live their lives as companions and best friends.  Petfinder is asking people everywhere to pledge to spread the word online about adoptable pets as part of their celebration.
